Emancipator is working to change societal ideas about men and masculinities. Because for gender equality, men also need to change.<\/strong> We transform masculinities for a better world.<\/p>\n

We are promoting gender justice by engaging men and boys and challenging patriarchal masculinities. We work to prevent violent masculinities and promote caring masculinities, as a contribution to women\u2019s and lgbtqia+ struggles for equality, and the liberation of men from traditional ideas about masculinity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Traditional masculinity norms not only cause problems for men themselves, but also for others and for the world. All kinds of personal and social problems can be traced back to rigid ideas about what it means to be a man, from the division of labor and care, fatherhood, parenthood and relationships, to sexuality, violence, diversity and physical and mental health. Feminism needs men for a better world and men need feminism for a better life.<\/strong> Our work on transforming masculinities is about looking differently at the role of men and masculinities, and seeing how they can contribute to, and benefit from, more gender equality. This is how we make men more human.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
