Bas Zwiers
Bas Zwiers attended a Be The Change workshop in 2011, where he suddenly realized that he was a man and that he might have to do something with that. That's where his activism was sparked, and where he also met Jens, the founder of Emancipator. When Emancipator was founded in 2014, Bas was on the supervisory board. Later, he also became more involved in the organization, and now he is involved in making plans, strategic development of the organization, setting up quarters, and giving training.
Bas finds transforming masculinities important because he thinks that we would have a better society if men took better care of themselves and others. In addition to his work for Emancipator, he likes to work as a social entrepreneur on all kinds of social projects that he thinks make the world a better place, including men's talking groups and body-oriented work. He is a proud resident of Amsterdam and likes to spend time with his sweetheart and her son.
