News: new leadership for Emancipator
Emancipator is taking a big step: our founder Jens van Tricht is stepping aside as a director in January. A three-person board of directors will be taking over: Jip Mars, Lilly van der Hoek, and Bas Zwiers.
Since 2014, under the inspiring leadership of founder Jens van Tricht, Emancipator has been working to involve boys, men, and masculinity in gender justice. In more than ten years, we have worked on countless projects with hundreds of organizations, professionals, and individual men to transform masculinity norms. As an organization, we have continued to grow over the years—with ups and downs, but always moving forward—and become more professional. Now it’s time for a new step, both for Jens and for Emancipator.
Jens has decided that it is time to step aside as director, on the one hand to give himself more space to develop new things, and on the other hand so that the organization can take the next step in its development. For years, we have been working in various ways to broaden, professionalize, and rely less and less on our founder, and this is a logical next step in that process.
Emancipator will continue under the leadership of a board of directors with three equal members: Jip Mars as general director, Lilly van der Hoek as director of people & processes, and Bas Zwiers as director of acquisition & development. With this step, we are bringing Emancipator into a new phase, ready for the future. Jens will continue to work at Emancipator, as strategic and masculinity advisor, trainer and facilitator, and speaker.
We are looking forward to what this step will bring us and to keep working with you on transforming masculinities!
